NCN partnered with Natural Products Canada (NPC), a Canada-wide network of companies, investors, research institutes, and innovation and commercialization experts to host the meeting that featured a half-day conference, investment pitches and 1-on-1 meetings with 18 innovative companies with unique technology and brands.

Chickpea snack companyBiena, a presenting company at NCN XIX in fall 2016, announced new backers in its $3.75 million Series A round.
Prenatalnutrition company Premama, a presenting company at NCN XVIII, has closed a $3.25 million Series B round led by River Hollow Partners. In total the brand has raised $4.65 million over the last 18 months.
TargEDys, a developer of microbiome based solutions to regulate appetite and a presenting company at NCN Europe II, has received €3.5 million from Zaluvida.
Shaka Tea, a presenting company at NCN XIX in 2016, has closed an angel round to grow its Hawaiian iced tea brand brewed from mmaki, an antioxidant-rich plant found only in the Hawaiian archipelago.

Since being founded in 2007, 545 companies have presented at 31 NCN investor meetings in the U.S. and Europe from a deal flow of more than 2,640 applicants. Through the end of 2016, 287 NCN presenting companies had completed some form of transaction. Through the end of 2015 (many deals take a year or more to complete), 271 out of 475 or 57% of NCN presenting companies had completed some form of transaction.
